The Issues At Hand

Protecting People's Rights

Everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed. Our nation’s success is built on the founding principles of unlimited opportunity, quality education, commitment to hard work, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. Michael David Ballantine promises to fight each and every day to ensure that the community is advancing towards meeting these founding principles and the needs of the Tarrant County community. Read on to learn about the issues at hand, and what is being done to combat them.

The Environment

The Stakes are High

Michael David Ballantine is proud to support and push for an environmental program that balances the needs of the world with the needs of Texas. Over time we will transition from a fossil fuel dependent economy to one that includes all renewable fuels as well. Killing the Keystone pipeline was a costly mistake for the 11,000 union workers. A decision made without consultation in the community nor consideration for the needs of the workers, their families or their communities. We will propose the development of shale oil in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming to offset employment declines in the coal industry to ensure energy independence for 100 years.

Education

For a Better Future

Our schools and educational providers are a failure. No longer can our community, the State or the Nation afford to deliver a 50% failure rate. All children and students deserve an education system that delivers education, not social engineering. The lie that if one works hard in school one will be successful must end. Through a blend of online learning and face-to-face classes our students will work toward mastery not by lowering the bar that all students will achieve mandated outcomes but that students of excellence will be recognized. Additionally, we must accept the mistakes of the past and forgive $50,000 in student loan balances to jumpstart our economy.  Further, we must begin to fund community colleges and state colleges for specific programs where the nation needs workers versus funding programs of choice.

Affordable Health Care

Key Policy

Michael David Ballantine is truly passionate about this issue, as it is one that impacts so many people all over the nation. It is unconscionable that a nation during a pandemic does not provide healthcare to our most vulnerable members of society. I will sponsor legislation that will enable unemployed Americans to enroll in Medicaid 30 days after losing their job and continue this coverage until they become employed with a company that offers health insurance. Additionally, I will push for the lowering of the enrollment age in Medicare to 55. To pay for this, we will propose that we end employment taxes that burden Americans along with state contributions and fund these enhancements to our current program through a 10% VAT tax ensuring that all Americans pay equally for these programs, not just working Americans. #forcethevote

Free Speech

The Stakes are High

Michael David Ballantine believes that free speech is under attack by Wokeism and the Cancel Culture. We will propose legislation that provides employment protection for free speech. No one should ever fear losing his or her job by engaging in free and protected speech.  Further, we will hold Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, Google and others accountable for their actions to silence people. Free speech is a hallmark of American culture. No one should be silenced because someone feels offended. America is a melting pot of 1,000s of cultures and we as a nation must respect individual free expression. There are those that believe speech is harmful and through their efforts to protect people they are harming people. The culture of critical race theory has no place in America. America is a constantly changing nation, always improving, always moving forward. With nearly 6,000 different cultures, America does not forget its past neither does it dwell upon it.

Jobs for Everyone

Planned Immigration

The current policy of open borders enabling limitless immigration is unsustainable. First, we must ensure that all citizens are employed. Second, we must ensure that immigrants meet specific skills or relationship requirements.  Finally, asylum seekers can only come from nations at war. Economic migration will not be tolerated unless all citizens seeking work are gainfully employed. To support certain jobs and functions, Congress can expand the work permit program to our neighboring countries but this will never be a path to citizenship. Michael David Ballantine supports the continuation of the Border Wall construction, the return of sane border administration, and the deportation of all non-visa holders. By limiting immigration, America can afford a higher minimum wage by limiting the competition that non-visa holding residents provide.
