Today, President Trump was acquitted. 50 Democrats and 7 Republicans did not vote to acquit which leaves us with a broken system. I hope that this terrible start to the new Biden Administration does not devolve into four years of mudslinging by both sides. There are important issues that our nation must address that cannot wait. I have images of both sides taking up defensive positions on each side of a canyon daring the other side to cross over. Our nation has become one giant feud with the people cowering in the middle. There are ways to bridge this divide if we are brave enough to move forward. As a representative of Tarrant County in the 6th district of Texas, I will stretch my paw out to find common ground, compromise or negotiate to move this nation forward without compromising the values that are most important to Texans. Most of us recall the stories of the Alamo. I was surprised that of the 30 odd Anglos that fought there, two of them were Ballantines. Just like both of those heroes, I will fight for the people of Texas and the 6th district in Washington not with a gun and a knife but with rapier wit and a pen.
